Howard’s Property – Kenora
May 16, 2025
Kenora is undergoing a housing transformation—the largest in over 30 years. But this isn’t just about building more homes. It’s about building better, greener, and more sustainable homes for the future.
project overview
École Waterford Springs School was developed to meet the growing demand for education, recreation, and childcare facilities in one of Winnipeg’s fastest-expanding neighborhoods. Designed as a dual-track K-8 school with a capacity for 800 students, the facility serves as a cornerstone for a child-focused community, emphasizing safety, sustainability, and innovation.
A key focus of the project was security, sustainability, and cultural inclusivity. To enhance safety while maintaining airflow and visibility, Armadillo security screens were installed throughout the facility, providing durable protection without compromising design aesthetics. The screens contribute to a secure learning environment while aligning with the school’s sustainability goals.
Design elements emphasize storytelling and environmental connection, incorporating circular gathering spaces, natural colors, and abundant daylight. The Certified LEED Silver school also integrates recycled materials and high-efficiency building strategies, making it a model of sustainable architecture. École Waterford Springs School is a high-performing, immersive destination where students, staff, and visitors can experience a secure and inspiring learning environment.
