VisionPlus® Curtain Wall: The Ultimate Commercial Window Solution – Trusted by Architects and Designers Across Canada
Developed in collaboration with architects for contemporary commercial design, VisionPlus® utilizes clean lines to create stunning, large expanses of glass.
Our curtain wall system delivers exceptional performance, aesthetics, and flexibility through engineered pultruded fiberglass frames with durable painted finishes.
A curtain wall system is a non-structural exterior wall that covers the outside of a building. It is typically made of glass and framing materials such as aluminum, steel, or fiberglass, and is designed to protect the building from weather while creating a modern, transparent facade.
Using thermally efficient framing and high-quality insulated glazing helps reduce thermal bridging and improves overall envelope performance.
A stable curtain wall system is designed to handle movement while maintaining tight air and water performance.
A well-engineered system is built to resist corrosion, moisture exposure, UV, and everyday wear without losing performance.
Energy Efficiency: The VisionPlus® Curtain Wall System is designed to meet energy performance criteria, potentially qualifying for financial incentives based on its U-value.
Durability and Resistance: Our specifications ensure that the system provides high resistance to air leakage, water penetration, and forced entry, making it suitable for various climatic conditions.
Customizability: Our system allows for custom design to match specific architectural requirements, including options for finishes and sizes.
Expert Support: We offer comprehensive support, including mock-up testing, field reviews, and compliance monitoring to ensure high-quality installation.
| Feature | Fiberglass (GFRP) | Aluminum |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal Conductivity | Very low (excellent insulation) | High (requires thermal breaks) |
| Weight | Lightweight | Lightweight |
| Corrosion Resistance | Excellent (non-metallic) | Moderate (can corrode without treatment) |
| Strength | High, but lower than aluminum in some applications | Very high, especially in structural applications |
| Durability | Excellent (with very low expansion and contraction rate) | Good (with some expansion and contraction rate) |
| Cost | Medium to Higher initial cost | High initial cost |
| Installation | Well-established methods with many different accessories and options | Well-established methods and supply chain |
| Environmental Impact | Lower bridging, long life span, lower embodied energy | Recyclable, but higher embodied energy |
| Aesthetic Flexibility | Moldable into complex shapes | Extruded profiles, less shape flexibility |
| Acoustic Control | Has the lowest sound transmission (excellent acoustic performance) | Not as effective in sound control |
