About Passive Hosue

A Passive House is a building designed to consume minimal energy for heating or cooling.

It achieves this through a combination of:

  • Super insulation: Thick insulation to prevent heat loss in winter and gain in summer.
  • Airtightness: Sealing the building to prevent drafts and energy loss.
  • High-performance windows: Energy-efficient windows to maximize natural light and minimize heat loss.
  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery: Provides fresh air while recovering heat from outgoing air.

Passive House Performance

SILEX 95H Passive House Components

The SILEX 95H Series represents the pinnacle of sustainable window engineering. Developed specifically to meet rigorous Passive House standards, these components leverage ultra-insulated structural cores to minimize thermal bridging while maximizing architectural freedom.

Whether specifying for a net-zero residential build or a forward-thinking commercial development, our architectural solutions deliver verified durability and long-term climate-resilient performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

All questions are tailored for fiberglass windows, Canadian climate, and energy efficiency.

General
  • Yes. The SILEX 95H is officially certified by the Passive House Institute (PHI) as a certified component since May 4, 2026. It achieves an efficiency class of phB for the “Cool, temperate” climate zone, making it fully verified for Net-Zero and Passive House projects across Canada.

  • A phB rating provides third-party verified, mathematically sound component data sheets. This professional data allows energy modelers, architects, and developers to confidently input exact performance specs into modeling software like PHPP 9 and PHPP 10 to ensure compliance with strict Canadian tiered energy codes.

Technical Performance & Materials

The system delivers industry-leading insulation parameters designed to eliminate cold spots:

  •

  • – Overall Window U-value ($U_W$): 0.80 W/(m²K)

  • – Frame width & performance: Head, Jamb, and Bottom profiles feature a slim 97 mm frame width with a frame U-value ($U_f$) of 0.85 W/(m²K).

    • – Linear thermal transmittance ($\Psi$-value): Optimized at 0.025 W/(mK).
