SILEX Fiberglass Windows & Doors
The new Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Centre of Excellence for Early Learning and Child Care is a purpose-built childcare facility in Saskatoon’s Kensington neighbourhood.
The 90-space centre was created to expand access to childcare while giving children meaningful opportunities to connect with Métis culture, identity, language and traditions. Cultural learning will be integrated into everyday programming, with teachings connected to Michif, Cree and Dene languages and guidance from Elders.
SILEX is proud to contribute high-performance fiberglass windows to this important community project.
SILEX fiberglass windows help transform the centre by bringing natural light into its learning and gathering spaces while supporting year-round comfort in Saskatoon’s demanding climate.
The window systems provide:
Generous daylight for bright and inviting learning spaces
Clean sightlines that complement the centre’s contemporary architecture
Strong thermal performance during Saskatchewan winters
Dimensionally stable frames that resist warping and swelling
Durable, low-maintenance performance for a busy institutional setting
Greater interior comfort for children, educators, families and Elders
Designed for Canadian climate conditions, SILEX’s commercial fiberglass window systems combine structural strength, thermal efficiency and long-term durability.
This is more than a place for children to spend the day. The centre is designed as an environment where Métis children can learn about their heritage and develop pride in their identity.
Métis Nation–Saskatchewan has emphasized that the facility will support families as they work, study and manage everyday responsibilities. It will also help address Saskatoon’s ongoing shortage of childcare spaces.
The project reflects a broader commitment to culturally grounded early learning. Similar Métis Nation–Saskatchewan childcare centres are being developed in Prince Albert and Regina.
SILEX understands that educational and community buildings must provide more than short-term performance. They must remain comfortable, efficient and dependable for the people who use them every day.
By helping bring daylight, thermal comfort and lasting performance to the building, SILEX windows support the centre’s larger vision: creating a safe and inspiring place where children can learn, play and carry Métis culture forward.
