SILEX Fiberglass Windows & Doors

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital High-Acuity Unit

    Commercial Project

High-Acuity Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

    project overview

Completed in 2025, the purpose-built facility expands access to specialized care for patients whose needs fall between a general hospital ward and an intensive care unit. The new unit provides modern patient rooms, dedicated clinical spaces and an environment designed to support patients, families and healthcare professionals.

The new 12-bed High-Acuity Unit provides patients with closer monitoring and a higher level of specialized care. Its private patient rooms offer more space and natural light, alongside important clinical features such as monitoring equipment, ceiling lifts, private bathrooms and dialysis capability.

SILEX supplied 31 windows for the project, contributing to a comfortable, durable and thoughtfully designed healthcare environment. Fiberglass window systems are well suited to demanding institutional applications where long-term performance, dimensional stability and low maintenance are important considerations.

    Supporting a Modern Healthcare Environment

We are proud that SILEX windows form part of this important healthcare project and will serve patients, families and healthcare professionals in Nanaimo and across central and northern Vancouver Island.
